Animal law cases can be civil or criminal. We do not undertake any legal aid civil work, but we do undertake local criminal legal aid work for those that are financially eligible. Please see our other funding pages for more information.

When you call our offices, one of our staff will take some brief details about you and your case which will be passed to one of our solicitors. You will then be telephoned by one of our solicitors who will provide you with some brief, preliminary advice free of charge. As we receive a large volume of enquiries and because this is a free service, we do limit these calls to 5 minutes.

Alternatively, you may wish to book one of our fixed-fee telephone conferences lasting up to 1 hour at a cost of £325 plus VAT*. During that conference we can discuss your case, advise you on your legal position and the options available to you, your prospects of success and the likely costs involved. We then provide you with a detailed letter of advice and set out the likely costs moving forwards.”

If you do not qualify for legal aid, or if your case is too far away for us to represent you on legal aid, we may be able to help you secure funding for your case. We work closely with several not-for-profit organisations including DDA Watch, Draconian Dogs Act and Deed Not Breed. These organisations provide support and sometimes financial help, for people involved in dog law cases. If you contact us to provide details of your case, we will go through the funding options with you.

No matter what your needs, circumstances or problems, we will always try to help you, so please call us on 01442 242999 or email us at hello@wheldonlaw.co.uk.
